If you’ve been a regular here (fat chance, that!), you know that I’ve been mulling over the idea of a 365 project. I wrote about it here and wanted a subject that would evolve over time – like a construction site.
After sitting on it for a few weeks now, I’ve sorta decided that instead of looking for something “like” a construction site, I might as well shoot the construction itself. It’s a win win methinks. Though I ought to start soon as the building seems to be shaping up fast.
Ideas? Thoughts?

My opinion only, and it could be my personal lack of vision, but I think a construction site might have limited creative potential. I’ve seen a few series along those lines, and most get old very quickly.
However, I don’t want to discourage a potential new approach. I’m always surprised at what people can do when personally motivated. If you do a search for “365 days photo” you’ll see some amazing stuff.
In part, that’s what put me off doing one so far . . . I don’t have anything new or original to add to the amazing work already out there.
I think you’re right. A construction site does get boring really quick. I’m still waiting for that moment when an idea hits me in the face! Let’s hope it happens soon.

P.S. Are you using the Canon 100mm macro? That’s my favorite lens!

Yup, the incredible 100mm Macro. I love everything about it – the sharpness, the speed, the contrast and even the price. It’s very difficult to justify the 100mm L over this one.
It’s my second favorite lens though. My all time favorite is the tiny 40mm Pancake. That thing is unbelievable. Can you imagine tack sharp edge to edge on full frame wide open?! It gives L a run for its money. And it’s cheap! Don’t think it gets any better than that. If you’re on the lookout for a normal lens, try this one. You’ll thank me later.
Getting into a routine with the blog does get easier over time. But I do have to admit, I’m counting down the days until I no longer have to make a daily post! I’ll continue to blog, just not a 365-day project. 😉
I actually have the 100 mm L lens and just LOVE it. I use it for landscape, portraits, etc. and not just for macros. Incredibly sharp! But apparently your non-L lens is sharp, too!
I’ll definitely have to look into the 40mm Pancake though! Thanks for the recommendation!
